Wheels that fit Subaru Brumby's and Brats
Written by Thomas Paine - Phizinza

It is hard to find good wheels to fit old Subaru's like the Brumby, Brat, Hatch and Wagons. This is because Subaru used a 4x140mm stud pattern. The easiest way to get 14" tyres on you old gen Subaru if you live in Australia is to buy a set of 14" Speedy Desert Rats. But because Speedy is an Australia brand you can't get them in other pars of the world. In the US the most popular thing to do is grab a set of old 405 or 505 Peugeot wheels. These were also the Subaru 4x140mm lug pattern. Sometimes you can even find a set of mags from a 505 which look quite nice I think. The other option is to either drill out some 6x139.7mm(5.5") rims found on most Japanese 4x4's to the 4x140 pattern or, even better I think, drill out your hubs to 6x140 stud pattern. Which you can see how to do here.

Here are some pictures of different wheels that have been put on Subaru Brumby's and Brats.

Therse are the Speedy Desert Rats with Kumho Venture M/T's fitted.

These are the standard Nissan Navara steel wheels fitted to the
rear drum brake of a Subaru Brumby with the6stud conversion.
They have a 24mm offset which works perfect on old Subaru's.

These are the Superlites, made by Performance.
They are 15" by 6" wide and have a 24mm offset.
As you can see they fit perfectly in the guards of a old
Subaru. I got the second hand off eBay, they used
to be on a Ford Courier.

Good luck with your search for new wheels. And happy modding!
