Wheel balance
« on: July 23, 2010, 09:26:59 AM »
So in my time of 4WDing I've always come across the problem of wheels getting out of balance. It normally happens 1000km or so after I've got them balanced! So I was wondering if anyone had solved the problem of the weights falling off, or whatever is the cause of these wheels constantly getting unbalanced?

In most cases the wheels are ussualy out of balance due to the mud ect building up in the rim but as i'm sure you know this is only the case till you clean it or it comes out on the road. Try this.... next time you get your wheels balanced ask them to use stick on weights. but they will have to clean the area of the weight up real well. when properly cleaned they stick on quite well but if not cleaned and dryed you can forget about it.  If you already have stick ons try clip on (standard) weights. keep in mind if you have alloy wheels with no bead lip on the front you may only be able to static balance them if your using clip ons. let us know how you go.
If you can't make it in 1st.
Back up and hit it in 3rd.
